Which GTA 6 Edition Should You Buy?

There are exactly two editions — Standard ($79.99) and Ultimate ($99.99). No Deluxe, no Collector's, no early access, and no disc in the box. Here's everything compared, plus a 30-second quiz.

Quick verdict

Most people should buy the Standard Edition ($79.99), digitally. The Ultimate Edition's extra $20 buys cosmetics and bonus vehicles — no early access, no exclusive story content — and Rockstar confirmed you can upgrade to Ultimate any time after launch. Go Ultimate only if you know you'll want the bonus cars, exclusive shops, and custom weapons from day one. Pre-order either edition before Nov 19 to get the Vintage Vice City Pack free.

GTA 6 edition FAQ

Is the GTA 6 Deluxe Edition worth it?
Trick question — there is no Deluxe Edition. Rockstar announced exactly two: Standard ($79.99) and Ultimate ($99.99). If a listing says "Deluxe," it's not official. The Ultimate Edition is the only premium tier.
Does the GTA 6 box include a disc?
No. Every physical copy at launch is a code in a box — a case with a download code inside, no disc. You'll need to download the full game and have an internet connection to install. The upside: boxed copies hit stores Nov 12, a week early, so you can redeem and pre-load before launch.
Is the Ultimate Edition worth the extra $20?
You get three bonus vehicles ('95 Grotti Cheetah, Shitzu Squalo, '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy), palm-tree-grip Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers, personalized versions of Jason's and Lucia's signature weapons, six exclusive shops (Rideout Customs, Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305, Electric Fang Tattoo, One-Eyed Willie's, Pitt Youngin$), and a month of GTA+ on digital. You do not get early access or exclusive story missions required to finish the game. Worth it for extras-lovers; skippable if you just want the story — and you can always upgrade later.
Does the Ultimate Edition include early access?
No. Neither edition has early access. Everyone starts playing Nov 19, 2026.
Can I upgrade from Standard to Ultimate later?
Yes — Rockstar confirmed you can upgrade even after release. This is why Standard is the safe default: buying it now doesn't lock you out of anything.
What's the pre-order bonus?
All pre-orders before Nov 19 get the Vintage Vice City Pack: a '55 Vapid Stanier sedan, a garage near Ocean Beach, retro outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, and an iconic weapon pattern. Digital pre-orders also get one free month of GTA+ (redeem by March 31, 2027 — heads up, it auto-renews at $7.99/month unless you cancel).
Does the boxed version include the free GTA+ month?
No — the GTA+ month is a digital pre-order bonus only. Boxed pre-orders still get the Vintage Vice City Pack.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Not at launch. It's PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only on Nov 19, 2026. No PC version is announced; based on Rockstar's track record (GTA 5, RDR2), a PC port is widely expected 1–2 years later.
When can I pre-load GTA 6?
Boxed copies arrive in stores from Nov 12, 2026 so you can redeem the code and pre-load a week early. Digital pre-orders can also pre-load ahead of the Nov 19 launch.
Is there a Collector's Edition or SteelBook?
Not announced. Only Standard and Ultimate exist right now. Some outlets speculate a Collector's Edition (or a disc version) could come later — nothing official. Join the alert list below and we'll email you the moment a new edition or bundle is announced.
How big is the download?
Rockstar hasn't published the final install size. Expect a very large download (recent AAA open-world games run 100 GB+) — another reason to pre-load. We'll update this when confirmed.
