Confirmed: Take-Two has set its Q1 FY27 earnings call for Friday, August 7, 2026, 8:00 AM ET — before market open (GTA BOOM, RockstarINTEL).
That is an unusual slot. Take-Two's calls normally land Tuesday through Thursday, after the close. The fanbase noticed, and within days August 7 had been converted into a Trailer 3 date across every GTA channel on the internet.
Let's separate what the calendar guarantees from what people want it to mean.
What August 7 actually guarantees
This is the first earnings report since pre-orders opened on June 25. Which means it is the first time Take-Two has a legal and commercial obligation to characterize GTA 6 demand with something other than adjectives.
Expect, in some form, the first official read on pre-order volume. That number matters more than a trailer does:
- Take-Two has guided investors toward an enormous FY27. The pre-order figure is the first checkpoint on whether that guidance is realistic.
- It is the only demand signal anyone outside Rockstar will get before launch.
- It sets the frame for every "biggest launch in entertainment history" story that runs between August and November.
A trailer moves attention. A pre-order number moves the stock, the retail forecast, and the print run.
The twist, and the thing nobody says out loud
The widely-repeated detail is that the last time Take-Two used this exact pre-open slot, it was to announce the Red Dead Redemption 2 delay.
That is true, and it is being deployed as evidence for two opposite conclusions, which should tell you how much predictive weight it carries. A Friday-morning call is consistent with wanting the market to digest big news before the weekend. "Big news" is not a synonym for "good news," and it is not a synonym for "trailer" either.
●rumor — Trailer 3 tied to August 7. Insider Tom Henderson floated a gameplay-focused shadow drop ahead of the report back in February. Rockstar has confirmed nothing. Analysts note the timing fits Rockstar's historical trailer cadence (Forbes, GamingBible). Fits is not the same as scheduled.
The risk story underneath
There is a second thread running that deserves more attention than it gets, and it is not a delay prediction.
On July 1, the IWGB-backed Rockstar Game Workers Union requested voluntary recognition. Rockstar responded that it will meet for "open and constructive dialogue." Strike action remains formally on the table, and the union can escalate to the UK's Central Arbitration Committee. The backdrop is 31 firings in October 2025 that the union characterizes as union-busting (Kotaku, Dexerto).
To be explicit, because other outlets have not been: no delay has been announced, and there is no reporting that one is under consideration. What exists is a mechanism — labor action during final crunch on a title with a fixed, heavily-marketed date — by which a slip could theoretically occur. That is worth understanding. It is not worth panicking about.
What hasn't changed
Everything on the buyer's side holds as of today:
- Launch: November 19, 2026
- Platforms: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC version announced.
- Editions: Standard $79.99, Ultimate $99.99
- Pre-load: digital pre-load from November 12
If any of that moves, it moves here and in the buyer's guide the same day.
How to read August 7
Watch the prepared remarks, not the trailer rumors. If Take-Two names a pre-order figure, that is the story. If a trailer lands the same morning, it is a bonus — and the two events being scheduled together would tell you something real about how carefully this launch is being staged.
